Seattle - Wedding Band Scotland

Wedding Band Scotland

We thought that would put together a small check list of the practical things you need to consider once you have booked a wedding band in Scotland.

1. Check with the venue that you can have a live wedding band

Although this may seem an obvious thing to consider you should discuss with the venue the type of live entertainment with your prospective venue as some wedding venues may be combined share facilities with other business such as art galleries or places of historical importance which may place restrictions on volume and the size of the band.

We would advise that when you have consulted with your venue the type of entertainment that you are planning on using and and you have agreed this with venue then get a contact name and number for your band liaise with.

2. Check with the band what time they intend to arrive and set up their equipment

For a wedding we would normally arrive 45 minutes prior to the start time. This would give us enough time to set up our equipment and sound check our equipment. The usual start time is 8pm so we would aim to be at your venue at about 7.15pm unless otherwise stated. Sounds checks are required by most bands to be able to get the right sound and check volume levels.

If a client would like up prior the to the meal there would usually be an additional charge for this.

3. Unloading Musical equipment

It is very important that the wedding band can get easy access to the function room mainly for Health and safety reasons. Longs flights of stairs and lifts can have increase the amount of time that it will take for the band to load in the equipment which could affect the schedule for the night.

If in the event that lifts are to be used it is very important that the band can have exclusive use of the lift for a specific period of time so that their loading in out is not impeded on any way.

4. Band Refreshments

Most bands require food and drink provisions at some point on the evening. Unless it is for corporate entertainment the band can normally eat from the buffet normally provided for the evening guests, this would obviously be agreed in advance with the bride and groom.

5. Timings

Seattle normally play 3 hours within a four hour period as do most wedding bands in Scotland. Standard times are usually between 8-12 midnight but this is negotiable. If the evening schedule is running late the agreed timings will still apply unless the band agrees to play beyond the contracted finishing time.
